Martin Bott

Position: Business consultant/Serviced Accommodation Manager

My day to day role at Oscars:

I carry out property viewings and inspections and provide advice and guidance on compliance, regulatory and legal matters as well as supporting the other members of the team. I also lead on serviced accommodation.

What I like best about my job:

Being able see lots of different properties and meeting a variety of people in the process.

My first house:

I was born in a small cottage next to a blacksmiths forge in a Northamptonshire village, and the first house I owned was close to the pond in Swanland.

My dream home would include:

A stunning view from a peaceful location, and a favourite car in the garage.

In my spare time/hobbies:

I enjoy spending time with my family especially my grandchildren. I am a volunteer with Hull City of Culture 2017, belong to a car club, have a season ticket at Hull City and enjoy a pub quiz most weeks.

My favourite local restaurant:

Hawwa in Hessle – good food, good value, friendly owners and within walking distance of where I live.

If you live in East Yorkshire you must:

Take advantage of what is on offer during City of Culture 2017 and beyond – museums, exhibitions and lots of events are free.

Best piece of advice:

Never take a profit before it is earned.
