Position: Financial Adviser / Lettings Negotiator
My day to day role at Oscars:
My day to day role involves dealing with existing landlords and tenants, including the management of everything from moving in to repairs and maintenance. I also offer advice on mortgage and protection products, including helping to ensure that both landlords and tenants are protected should the worst happen. I help landlords to make the most of their finances, whether it’s ensuring they have the most cost effective plan in place for building a portfolio or ensuring that nest egg is going to provide the relevant support come retirement.
What I like best about my job:
I am lucky enough to have a very varied role which means no two days are the same, which I enjoy. The best part though has to be the satisfaction of helping first time buyers get onto the property ladder, that sense of excitement is not something which is easily matched!
My first house:
My first house is still my current house, thankfully no horror stories to tell. Just a 2 bed cottage in Hessle, with a lovely space for my barbecue out the back.
My dream home would include:
Views over the sea to the west and views over a golf course to the east. Space for a pool and a bar with an integrated barbecue wouldn’t go a miss either, it is a dream home after all.
In my spare time/hobbies:
Mostly taken up by golf, I’m a member of Skidby Lakes and have been playing for around 4 years. I’m also a big Liverpool FC fan so my time is otherwise spent at Anfield or in front of the TV watching The Reds.
My favourite local restaurant:
Has to be Cascara in Hessle, amazing food, Brahma on tap and within walking distance from home.
If you live in East Yorkshire you must:
Visit Whiteheads in Hornsea for fish and chips, followed by a wander down the seafront and in the arcades.
Best piece of advice:
Always have a backup plan – ensure you have your family and finances protected!
